A Halloween Pirate is a favourite costume of children young and old every year. As Captain Corbin the magical pirate, I’m always very busy around Halloween pirate entertaining and playing with children. This coming halloween I’ll be all over the province entertaining, but I am most looking forward to a wonderful Halloween Pirate cruise in Gravenhurst Ontario

Halloween Pirate Cruise

As a professional performing Pirate I’m always looking ahead and have recently booked my summer season in Gravenhurst performing pirate cruises on the Wenonah II from the Muskoka Steamship association. Every year (and so far it’s been 12) I perform on the Wenonah in Gravenhurst I write a brand new script for the show. As well over 60% of our guests are repeat I want to make it special for them every year. This year I came up with a fun show. I call it “the best ship on the lake”. It may be full of treasure, or we can take it over. After a 2 hour cruise and no luck the confused Captain Corbin discovers with the help of the children that the best ship is Friendship and he makes all his friends Honorary pirates. Yeah, it’s corny but it’s cute and fun and we will have a blast.

A new pirate cruise

As we were working on the summer plans I was asked to develop a halloween pirate cruise. Something brand new! I was very excited, but had no idea what to plan. As a result, I asked what else was planned for the day. I was told a barbecue, a costume parade led by me to the dock and a pirate cruise. With that to work with, I began to think. I definitely wanted something different from the summer season. And it had to be fun.

A perfect Pirate poem

Witches and warlocks dressed to amuse, join us for our halloween cruise. Trick or treating will start as each of you enter, our creepily decorated discovery center. Then hungry young monsters will enjoy a feast, of hot dogs, hamburgers and barbecued beast. A pirate will march you down the boardwalk, to take over a ship tied up at the dock. A haunted and hilarious pirate adventure, ends at Gravenhurst wharf with the pirates surrender.

I am Captain Corbin the London Ontario magic pirate. I perform all over North America. However I am based in London Ontario and perform at a lot of events in the region. My shows are family friendly and fun. As a result, they are a pirate themed performance everyone can enjoy.

Captain Corbin the magical pirate is a fun character to play. I perform great family friendly shows with a Yarr and an argh! However I do not perform with a gun or a sword. Being family friendly is very important to me. With audiences full of children, I know how influential I can be. During my pirate themed magic shows I often include an educational lesson. As a result, my performances are often at schools and libraries in the area. Children learn best when they are having fun. My pirate themed magic shows are a lot of fun. I have shows that discuss reading literacy, math skills, the importance of water safety and water conservation and many more! I also customize performances. As a result, I may be able to incorporate your events themes into my show.

Performances at Fairs and Festivals

I have been performing all over Canada for over 25 years. My shows are very interactive and a lot of fun. I am a regular performer at Ontario festivals and events. I also perform at attractions across the country and amusement parks. Every summer for the past 5 years I have been performing at Storybook Gardens amusement park in London Ontario. I am there once a week throughout July and August. Shows sell out very fast. As a result it’s always best to get there early and grab a seat.

Interactive, inclusive and fun

During my shows I get the audience involved. They become part of my crew, and part of the show. As a result, everyone becomes engaged with the performance. I often bring volunteers up onstage to help me. Boys and girls and even parents come up to perform. There is a lot of interactivity and fun. Usually Captain Corbin can’t make the magic happen without the help of his assistance. It makes for a lot of laughs. And memories that last a long time after.

Summer Storybook Gardens Entertainment

My shows at Storybook gardens are always family friendly and very funny. Often lasting 30 minutes or more it’s great Storybook Gardens entertainment. As a result, they are Full of magic and pirate hi-jinks. Everyone has a great time. My onstage assistants often become pirates or princesses in the presentation. Taking part by assisting with the illusions or helping Captain Corbin out of the trouble he gets in. Often the Captain Corbin is looking for a lost treasure and the children help him with the task. Captain Corbin’s pirate themed magic shows are fun for the whole family. The shows are inclusive and interactive and everyone has a great time.

Storybook Gardens

Storybook gardens is an amusement park in London Ontario. Full of fun activities, amusements, rides and a water park it’s a great attraction. I visited Storybook gardens many times as a child and it is a huge thrill for me to be performing there as the feature storybook gardens entertainment during the summer. This year you will be able to see my pirate themed magic shows there every Wednesday in July and August. I present two magic shows each Wednesday (one in the morning, one afternoon) and they always fill up very fast. Admission to the shows is included with your park admission, there is no extra charge. As a result, it is a great break in the middle of your storybook day. Ahoy, I am the storybook Gardens Pirate. I perform family friendly pirate magic at Storybook gardens all summer long. It is a blast and one of my favourite places to perform. I perform pirate themed magic shows. My shows are full of family friendly magic, pirate hi-jinks, nautical nonsense and much more. I call them Pirate adventures and the children and adults in the audience love them! Even though, my presentations seem like children’s entertainment – the adults will have a blast as well! Shiver me timbers, I’ve been everywhere Man! For the past 25 years I’ve been performing all over North America, from Orlando to Chicago, Toronto to Minneapolis. Captain Corbin’s magic shows are often educational as well as entertaining. During March break many of his shows have additional educational themes to them. At the Chatham-kent libraries in Ontario Captain Corbin will be performing his Reading treasures show. The Reading treasures show is a pirate themed magic show with a literacy message. many of the magic tricks used during the program have reading or spelling required. During the show the importance of reading is expressed and the children leave with the message that reading is a treasure. Children learn best when it’s presented in a fun way. Captain Corbin’s show are a lot of fun and the messages are remembered long after the event has past.

Oceans of Magic water conservation show

One of my most popular march break magic shows is called Oceans of Magic. This pirate themed magic show is full of science type magic tricks using water. However during the show the subject of water conservation is discussed. Children are taught tricks they can perform at home with water. As a result, the message of water conservation is brought home with them. Often during the summer months this show has an additional lesson of water safety. Lessons such as swimming with a buddy, and not swimming alone are discussed. A very important show for venues around bodies of water. Peel Art galleries in Ontario will be hosting some March Break magic shows.

Reading Treasures pirate magic show

During this incredible 45 minute show Captain Corbin discovers that reading is a treasure. The storyline involves him arriving to the library, school or museum looking for treasure, but all he can find are books. Initially disappointed, the children get involved and throughout the show they teach the Captain Corbin that reading is a treasure. Books are like a treasure chest and the stories and knowledge they hold are the treasures within! At the end of the show, the books are deposited into Captain Corbin empty magic treasure chest where they produce gold coins representing the treasure of reading. It’s a great show

A pirate themed magic show is always a popular presentation at parties. As a result, I’ve become very busy, touring all over North America. My shows are always family friendly and entertaining to all ages. In every show there is something for the children and the adults. I customize each presentation to suit the age group of the audience present. However even with the show directed towards the children, I bring adults into the show and have them take part. As a result the children become very interested.

The Children really become involved in my show. Many will come onstage to assist with the magic. Often as Captain Corbin the magic just does not work for me, but the child assistant always becomes the hero. Therefore all my helpers feel special.

Everyone gets involved!

Boys and girls all become special helpers. Therefore, the show begins and onstage I provide children with their pirate names. Often the girls wish to become princesses. As a result, us pirates are tasked with protecting them! (and whatever treasures they may have ) I’ve also on occasion turned boys into little princes and the like. The children are the stars of my shows and they always feel that way. At the end of my shows I stick around to meet and greet with all the children, often taking pictures with them.

March Break Magic shows

I am Captain Corbin the magic pirate and I perform March Break Magic shows. All over Ontario for the past 25 years I have traveled from library to library performing my magic shows. During March Break Magic shows are very popular and I am often performing 3-4 shows a day. My shows are fun and full of magic, but they also have an educational aspect to them. My literacy themed show is a big hit at libraries over the March Break Magic Week. As a result, I am often quite busy.
