Halloween Pirate

A Halloween Pirate is a favourite costume of children young and old every year. As Captain Corbin the magical pirate, I’m always very busy around Halloween pirate entertaining and playing with children. This coming halloween I’ll be all over the province entertaining, but I am most looking forward to a wonderful Halloween Pirate cruise in Gravenhurst Ontario

Halloween Pirate Cruise

As a professional performing Pirate I’m always looking ahead and have recently booked my summer season in Gravenhurst performing pirate cruises on the Wenonah II from the Muskoka Steamship association. Every year (and so far it’s been 12) I perform on the Wenonah in Gravenhurst I write a brand new script for the show. As well over 60% of our guests are repeat I want to make it special for them every year. This year I came up with a fun show. I call it “the best ship on the lake”. It may be full of treasure, or we can take it over. After a 2 hour cruise and no luck the confused Captain Corbin discovers with the help of the children that the best ship is Friendship and he makes all his friends Honorary pirates. Yeah, it’s corny but it’s cute and fun and we will have a blast.

A new pirate cruise

As we were working on the summer plans I was asked to develop a halloween pirate cruise. Something brand new! I was very excited, but had no idea what to plan. As a result, I asked what else was planned for the day. I was told a barbecue, a costume parade led by me to the dock and a pirate cruise. With that to work with, I began to think. I definitely wanted something different from the summer season. And it had to be fun.

A perfect Pirate poem

Witches and warlocks dressed to amuse, join us for our halloween cruise. Trick or treating will start as each of you enter, our creepily decorated discovery center. Then hungry young monsters will enjoy a feast, of hot dogs, hamburgers and barbecued beast. A pirate will march you down the boardwalk, to take over a ship tied up at the dock. A haunted and hilarious pirate adventure, ends at Gravenhurst wharf with the pirates surrender.

Children’s entertainment family friendly, interactive and fun

I am Captain Corbin the magical pirate and I perform children’s entertainment that is interactive and fun. I perform as a magician pirate and my family friendly pirate themed shows are a blast (like a cannon!) Children get involved in the show, and many come onstage to assist. As a result the performance becomes very real and interactive.

The show is very interactive and fun. As Captain Corbin I often give the children funny pirate names. Sometimes the girls become princesses or lady pirates, sometimes the boys become princes. Therefore the show is very inclusive entertainment. I have been performing pirate themed magic shows all over North America for almost 25 years now. I have performed at schools, libraries, fairs, festival entertainment and even private birthday party magician.

Throughout the Sumer months I’m often performing at amusement parks and at special events. you can often find me at Storybook Gardens amusement park in London Ontario. And I’m a feature performer at the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls magician. As a result, I’m pretty well known around the country.

Family friendly and a lot of fun

My pirate shows are Family Friendly and a lot of fun. Therefore children of all ages can watch and take part. Captain Corbin does not have any swords, guns or references to alcohol (rum) in his shows. How often have you seen a “children’s entertainer” say something that was not family friendly? it happens a lot unfortunately. Captain Corbin scripts every show carefully to ensure the language is family friendly as well as being entertaining for all ages. Adults and children will enjoy the show thoroughly. Therefore it is a safe show for anyone to watch.

Magic Pirate Ship is Boatloads of fun

At Fairs, Festivals and many other events, my Magic Pirate ship is boatloads of fun. Event entertainment that attracts crowds. My pirate ship of fun is a perfect attraction. A mobile ship on wheels that adds magic and excitement to special events. Captain Corbin Corbin’s Magic Pirate ship is always a sure fire hit.

I am Captain Corbin the magic pirate. As Captain Corbin I travel all over Canada. As a result, My magic pirate ship can “sail” to your event. Captain Corbin pirate themed magic shows are always a popular event attraction. Between the big stage shows I stroll around the venue. Performing strolling magic and pirate hi-jinks. therefore the performances are spread around. Walking around the festival as a pirate is a lot of fun. “Sailing” around the festival with my magic pirate ship is a huge attraction. For example, a pirate may only be seen entertaining from a few feet. The Magic Pirate ship is an event attraction that can be seen from a much greater distance.

The Magic Pirate Ship of Fun is a six foot long wooden pirate ship on wheels. It’s a huge attraction at festivals and events across Ontario. The Pirate ship was hand built by myself Captain Corbin over about 6 months. It has tiny cannons that squirt water, however, it plays music via a hidden huge speaker and it acts as a table on which I can perform my close up magic. All the children and adults love to come and take a look. The pirate ship of fun is a big picture opportunity. As a result, I’m often asked to stop the stroll for a minute to take pictures.

Pirate themed birthdays with Captain Corbin

I perform Pirate themed birthdays and all kinds of other types of magic shows. Sometimes I’m on a big stage at a theatre or festival and sometimes I’m performing magic on my barrel in the park. Every show I perform is family friendly and a lot of fun. I have been on stage at The Grand Theater in London Ontario and I’ve performed in Windsor Ontario at the Devonshire Mall.  I have truly enjoyed every performance. Some of my favourite shows however, have been at private birthday parties. I have a blast performing pirate themed birthdays. As Captain Corbin my pirate themed magic shows are engaging, entertaining and fun!

A Pirate themed birthday party is a very special event. A child’s birthday is remembered for a long time filled with picture perfect moments. During my show I fill the performance with memorable situations and photo opportunities. Each birthday is customized to be perfect and it all begins with the pre show communications.

Customizing pirate themed birthdays

Once the time and date of the event has been scheduled the customization begins. The show is pirate themed, however inside the show many more personalized effects are included. Some of the questions I ask include; what is the birthday boy’s favourite television shows, Games, Sports, hobbies, etc. What are your birthday party ideas and how can they be incorporated into the show. I ask about the child’s likes and dislikes and any other information that is important. After all those questions and more, I go to work designing the perfect pirate themed birthday magic show. Booking early is highly recommended for this very purpose! I love the challenge of last minute bookings, but the longer I have to work on the show the more personal it becomes.

On the day of the show I arrive in full costume very early. As Captain Corbin the magical pirate I don’t want the children to see me as anything other then the pirate. With pirate music playing out of a small speaker attached to my pirate sash I knock on the front door and announce my presence. After meeting the most important birthday child, I set up in the predetermined area and with my pirate music playing in the background I wait until all the guests have arrived to begin my pirate themed birthday.

The show lasts about 45min. and is full of family friendly fun and engaging magic. Every show is customized, no two shows are alike. Each is designed to be age appropriate for the birthday child and include his likes. Contact me for more details!

Make a wish with a magic pirate

I often perform with the make a wish organization as Captain Corbin the magic pirate. Make a wish with a magic pirate is a great match. The Make a wish foundation is an incredible organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The foundation is national and international with branches all over North America. The international foundation is the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making wishes come true for more than 450,000 children since 1980.

Every year this wonderful organization holds many events to raise awareness and funds. I always try to be a part of as many events that I can. Some of my favourite events include the rappelling event. Every year they have people raise funds and rappel off of London’s tallest building. During the winter season in Port Stanley Ontario one family holds their own fundraiser inviting people to come to their home and look at the Christmas light display. The Port Stanley Christmas light display is incredible with thousands of lights and hundreds of decorations. Every year they raise a lot of money for the Make a wish group. As Captain Corbin I volunteer on a regular basis. I often bring my magic to the hospital when they have a wish day event. I have rappelled down the buildings and performed at their gala nights at Sunningdale golf club. Sunningdale is in London, making me a magician in London Ontario

The children really “light up” when they see a pirate marching around. I perform family friendly magic that gets the children really excited. The Make a wish Foundation is the only group I currently volunteer for. All my free time goes to them. Pirate magician performs Tiki show

Ahoy all,

Yarr as a pirate magician, I really enjoy performing my pirate themed magic shows at schools, libraries and theatres all over North America. My shows are always very interactive and fun. Often I like to add an additional theme to my shows to mix it up and thrill the groups. Over the years I’ve performed shows with educational magic shows, with reading themes and winter themed pirate shows. I also like adding fun themes to my shows such as my Tiki themed pirate magic show. The tiki themed show I call Captain Corbin’s Tiki Troubles show. And I’ve created a whole storyline and plot to go along with the show. It’s not just a magic show, its a pirate adventure show, very similar to a Saturday morning children’s television show and the kids love it.

During the Tiki Troubles show, Captain Corbin the pirate magician shows the children a tiki statue he found on one of his troubles. The statue is supposed to Guard a treasure, but it also has a curse! The show progresses with the Captain trying to get the treasure on his own, but everything goes wrong. He realizes the curse happens when he tries to do things on his own, so he gets the children’s help. When Captain Corbin works together with his friends, he breaks the curse and the Tiki gives up his gold. It’s a great show with the message of working together!

This show is full of magic, and great props and decorations. The tiki statues look great and the stage is often set with tropical backgrounds and floral garlands. I even bring out a volcano! (it’s just a vertical fog machine, but it looks great!)

Once a year you can see me perform a short version of this show on stage at Storybook Gardens. The full show lasts apox. 45min. long, but at storybook gardens in London the show is slimed down to a 30min set.

and of course at the end of the show Captain Corbin shares all his tiki gold with the kids!

Niagara Falls Pirate performs on New Years eve

A few years ago Captain Corbin the magic pirate performed a magic show in Niagara Falls ontario on New Years eve. Captain Corbin the pirate magician performs all over North America and he’s often in Niagara Falls year round performing at all kinds of locations. Many times throughout the year he performs his family friendly magic shows at the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls. A few years ago he performed magic at another water park magician in Niagara. The incredible Americana water park. Corbin performed at the Americana on New Years eve in 2015. It was an incredible New Years eve party entertainment and there was a huge crowd. There was a juggler, another magician then Corbin the family friendly pirate finished the stage entertainment with his pirate themed magic show. The New year was counted down shortly after that and we all had a pirate party.

This New Years Captain Corbin will be in disguise as The Amazing Corbin and He will be back in Niagara Falls, this time performing at the Great Wolf Lodge. Children’s entertainment that is fun for the whole family. I hope I see you out there!

Reading Treasures literacy based pirate themed magic show a hit at libraries across Canada

Entertaining and educational magic shows are always a big hit at libraries and schools across Ontario and Canada. Captain Corbin  the magical pirate enjoys customizing his shows to add that educational aspect. Reading treasures is a pirate themed magic show with a lot of literacy based magic effects in the show. The pirate Captain Corbin uses his pirate magic book and gets the children involved in the show helping him. During the interactive pirate magic show Children’s entertainer Corbin has all kinds of fun with magic. Magic tricks that involve spelling, reading and literacy is the focus of the show and all the children learn that reading is a Treasure! Captain Corbin tells the children that books are just like treasure chests, when you open both you find the treasure inside. With books, the story inside is the treasure. All the children have a lot of fun and make memories that last a long, long time. Having Captain Corbin come to your school or library is a sure fire way to put a smile on every Childs face. During March Break 2019 Captain Corbin will be sailing to the Chatham-kent libraries to perform his Reading Treasures show for all the children there. A strolling magic show performance is a lot different from a magic and illusion show on stage. There is less work setting up the show, as with a strolling performance I’m ready as soon as I’m in costume. A stage show however is not better or worse then the strolling wandering magic show, it’s just different. A strolling magic show performance is perfect for events where there is a lot going on, the attendees are all over a wide area, there is no performance stage or many other reasons. Recently I performed my strolling pirate magic show in St. Thomas Ontario at the Joe thorton community centre arena.

A magic and illusion show may take over an hour to set up the show. preparing equipment, sound systems, curtains etc. A strolling performance is almost good to go as soon as I arrive. When I recently performed in St. Thomas I was able to walk right into the event and begin as soon as I marched in the doors. And I did march in. I marched in to pirate music! Before I arrived on sight I stopped nearby for lunch and was able to change into my pirate shirt. That allowed me to be able to quickly hop out of my vehicle and put on the accessories in the parking lot. My pirate sash, hat and baldric was all I needed. When I stroll around the event performing magic I like to have a table to travel with me to perform on. It’s not required, but it helps when I want to show more formal pieces of close up magic. After experimenting with a variety of smaller tables I decided authenticity counts and I now use a huge 60 gallon oak wine barrel on wheels! this thing is big and to see a pirate pushing around a huge barrel is quite a site. The barrel also has a door which allows me to fill it with my equipment and a small sound system. Something I would not be able to do with a smaller table. So in the parking lot of the Joe thorton community center I finish my costume, remove my barrel from the vehicle, turn on my sound system which plays nautical themed music and I push the unit up to and through the front doors making quite the entrance as a pirate with great background magic. After my grand entrance the performance begins and I wander around the room performing my incredible close up magic on top of my barrel and in the spectators hands. Strolling pirate magic makes a huge impression and creates fun memories that will last a very very long time!
