A Pirate show that’s very popular

It’s been a busy summer with pirate shows all over North America almost on a daily basis! Over the past three months I’ve “sailed” to Gravenhurst, Toronto, London, Windsor, New York, Chicago and many more cities and towns. Each show has been full of family friendly pirate fun and hi-jinks. In the month ahead I’ll be heading to the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls as well as Eldon House in London Ontario and near the end of the month I’ll be heading across the country to Vancouver B.C.! March Break Pirate Shows

I am Captain Corbin and next week I will be performing March Break Pirate shows. At libraries across Ontario, my pirate themed magic shows will be entertaining children and educating them on the importance of reading. Titled “Reading Treasures” my march break pirate shows entertain and share the importance of literacy with the kids. Children learn best when they are having fun! As a result, my shows are a lot of fun.

March Break Pirate Magic shows are fun

My pirate themed magic shows are full of fun, interactive magic that gets the kids involved. Therefore they pay attention. With this in mind I add a lot of educational value to my programs. Reading Treasures is a magic show with this in mind. During the show I discuss the importance of books and reading. A literacy based magic show. The kids listen to Captain Corbin the pirate and retain what he says. If a real live pirate says reading is important, they believe it! It’s every Childs fantasy to be a pirate, and they will listen every time.

During my Reading Treasures pirate themed magic show, instead of finding treasure I find books! The premise is that Captain Corbin has sailed to the library looking for treasures. However books are all he finds. As a result, the Captain Corbin is somewhat confused. During the 45min. show, the children are the ones that tell him the books are the treasure. In the library books are like treasure chests, and the stories they contain are the treasures to be had! Captain Corbin soon agrees and determines Reading is a Treasure!

Chatham Ontario Libraries

Most of my March Break Magic shows occur at the Chatham public libraries. On Tuesday march 12 I will be at the main chatham library and the Wallaceburg branch in the afternoon. On Wednesday March 13th I will be appearing at the Blenheim public library. Tickets go fast, and they are free. I recommend contacting the libraries today to reserve your spot!.

Peterborough Pirate boat cruises

Hello all, I am Captain Corbin and I host Peterborough Pirate boat cruises. I have been hosting pirate cruises in Gravenhurst Ontario for almost 15 years now. This summer I will be performing the pirate cruises a bit north of Peterborough on beautiful Stoney Lake.

Just a few minutes north of Peterborough is Stoney Lake. A beautiful lake in Ontario. I will be performing on the ship “Spirit of the Kawarthas” from Stony Lake Cruises. The ship is completely remodelled and looks great. I can’t wait to take it over!

The pirate cruises on Stoney Lake will occur every Saturday morning in July and August. They will be very different from the pirate cruises I perform in Gravenhurst Ontario. Oceans of Magic

My water safety shows are called Oceans of Magic. During this 45 minute show the children learn about water safety and water conservation. The shows are all about 45 minutes long, however I stick around after every performance to meet and greet with the children. The Water Safety shows have two main messages. We first talk about water safety as it relates to swimming in pools or other bodies of water. We also discuss Water conservation at home. The magic is incredible, pirate themed and a lot of fun. Card magic, magic with silks, rubber fish and water. Always a lot of fun and interactive, with some children coming on stage to assist. A pirate themed magic show is always a popular presentation at parties. As a result, I’ve become very busy, touring all over North America. My shows are always family friendly and entertaining to all ages. In every show there is something for the children and the adults. I customize each presentation to suit the age group of the audience present. However even with the show directed towards the children, I bring adults into the show and have them take part. As a result the children become very interested.

The Children really become involved in my show. Many will come onstage to assist with the magic. Often as Captain Corbin the magic just does not work for me, but the child assistant always becomes the hero. Therefore all my helpers feel special.

Boys and girls all become special helpers. Therefore, the show begins and onstage I provide children with their pirate names. Often the girls wish to become princesses. As a result, us pirates are tasked with protecting them! (and whatever treasures they may have ) I’ve also on occasion turned boys into little princes and the like. The children are the stars of my shows and they always feel that way. At the end of my shows I stick around to meet and greet with all the children, often taking pictures with them.

The Pirate ship was hand built by myself Captain Corbin over about 6 months. It has tiny cannons that squirt water, however, it plays music via a hidden huge speaker and it acts as a table on which I can perform my close up magic. All the children and adults love to come and take a look. The pirate ship of fun is a big picture opportunity. As a result, I’m often asked to stop the stroll for a minute to take pictures.

March Break Shows are Magic

Every March Break Shows I perform all over Ontario and beyond. March Break is a very busy time for a magic pirate. Most of the time I’m performing my pirate themed magic shows at libraries and Day camps. Although, quite often I am a magician hired to perform at private functions.

March Break Shows at Libraries and Camps

Every year my March Break books up really early. With only 7 days and a demand for my pirate magic show across Ontario, I often book the entire week months in advance. This coming march break is no different. As a result I’ll be performing at over 5 different libraries across the province.

The Chatham-kent library and the Burlington Library magic shows will be great fun. Full of audience participation and family friendly pirate themed magic. These library shows are at the end of the week, on Thursday and Friday and have already garnered a lot of interest. I have performed at the libraries before and have quite a following. My pirate themed magic shows never fail to sell out.

Some dates are still available during March Break Shows Magic. As my Availability is limited it is highly recommended to contact me as soon as possible.

My March Break Shows last approximately 45 minutes long. The shows are full of family friendly magic, fun and audience participation. I custom create the shows to be perfect for every event. Should a longer or shorter show be required for your event, it is a simple process to design.

I have been performing pirate magic shows all over North America, Canada, and Ontario for a very long time. My shows are fun, interactive and magical. The children get involved in the show and become part of it. As a result, the experience is remembered for a long time. 45 Minute show, over an hour of entertainment!

I show up to the venue at least 15-20 minutes before the show is scheduled to begin. When I arrive I am in full costume and ready to go. As a result the children never see me out of character and the magic spell begins as soon as I arrive. When I arrive on site I meet and greet all the children and set up the show. I bring everything required for a great show every time, this includes my pirate music, magic and tables. Therefore, nothing needs to be rented or prepared for my arrival. A bit of electricity and the spot to perform in is all I need. When the audience is larger then 50 guests a riser of some kind is appreciated. If an outdoor performance is requested, an alternate indoor area should be ready in case of inclement weather.

Magic pirate strolling close up magic show wandering pirate character Captain Corbin

A strolling magic show performance is a lot different from a magic and illusion show on stage. There is less work setting up the show, as with a strolling performance I’m ready as soon as I’m in costume. A stage show however is not better or worse then the strolling wandering magic show, it’s just different. A strolling magic show performance is perfect for events where there is a lot going on, the attendees are all over a wide area, there is no performance stage or many other reasons. Recently I performed my strolling pirate magic show in St. Thomas Ontario at the Joe thorton community centre arena.

A magic and illusion show may take over an hour to set up the show. preparing equipment, sound systems, curtains etc. A strolling performance is almost good to go as soon as I arrive. When I recently performed in St. Thomas I was able to walk right into the event and begin as soon as I marched in the doors. And I did march in. I marched in to pirate music! Before I arrived on sight I stopped nearby for lunch and was able to change into my pirate shirt. That allowed me to be able to quickly hop out of my vehicle and put on the accessories in the parking lot. My pirate sash, hat and baldric was all I needed. When I stroll around the event performing magic I like to have a table to travel with me to perform on. It’s not required, but it helps when I want to show more formal pieces of close up magic. After experimenting with a variety of smaller tables I decided authenticity counts and I now use a huge 60 gallon oak wine barrel on wheels! this thing is big and to see a pirate pushing around a huge barrel is quite a site. The barrel also has a door which allows me to fill it with my equipment and a small sound system. Something I would not be able to do with a smaller table. So in the parking lot of the Joe thorton community center I finish my costume, remove my barrel from the vehicle, turn on my sound system which plays nautical themed music and I push the unit up to and through the front doors making quite the entrance as a pirate with great background magic. After my grand entrance the performance begins and I wander around the room performing my incredible close up magic on top of my barrel and in the spectators hands. Strolling pirate magic makes a huge impression and creates fun memories that will last a very very long time!
